Unleash the Warrior Within

I thought this deserved it’s own post.

Recently, my step-brother Robert broke his neck while swimming. Since he was paralyzed, he drowned, luckily, a neighbor’s friend was over who performed cpr and saved Robert’s life. Robert can’t move his legs or fingers yet, but has been making so much progress from where he was, and has feeling everywhere. The doctors are expecting lots of progress. He has been in very high spirits and has been working very hard and everyone is very proud of him.

I’m not sure who it was, but wristbands similar to livestrong bracelets to support Robert have been handed out. They are blue and say “Unleash the Warrior Within” on the outside, and his name and football number on the inside. The first time I ever wore it I had to run a little more than four miles, which is the farthest I’ve ever gone before (not that far, but still). I was hoping to go at least half-way without stopping. I think that the bracelet must be good luck and very motivational, because I went the whole way without stopping once. I hope that this is the same for Robert and everyone else, that they feel motivated and have a little luck on their side when they need it most.

Big, good news

Dad and Lori are now engaged! I’m so happy for them! Dad proposed on Friday, on Sunday, we all had a talk about what it was going to be like, what was going to change and what was going to stay the same, I think they did a very good job. At first I was a little nervous, just because it would be such a big change to live with four more people than I usually do. A seven person household. After the wedding this June, we’re going to move to Lori’s house, because it’s bigger than ours. T and Andrew will share a room, Coleman will get Andrew’s (I think) room, and I’ll have a room in the basement. It’ll be fun. I’m excited. I think today Lori, Aunt Ruthie, and I are going to look at dresses. Not buy yet, but look.

What happens when you stay home.

Both Mom and I were sick today, so this morning she was sleeping on the couch and I was hovering between awake and asleep. I opened up my eyes and looked at the curtain that covers our whole wall, because there wasn’t much else I could see.

As I woke up I realized that there was something on the curtain, then I began to realize what it was.

We have four cats and we still have a mouse in our house….. it even took me showing it to them to notice it, but they obviously wanted to catch it.

Doesn’t it look like someones hamster got out and bred with a mouse? It doesn’t look normal..

Pollock!

We just got another dog on Saturday. Her name is Pollock, we named her that because it looks like Jackson Pollock painted her. At first Mom didn’t want to name her that, but she likes it now. Pollock is really sweet and pretty and cool.

A good reason to knit… or for your Mom to.

Mom has been on a “knitting felted bags” kick. She’s made two already (one of which makes me laugh because of something she told me that I’m not going to tell you about), and she almost done with a bag for me. It’s pretty sweet. It’s black, with a bright pink Jolly Rodgers skull. If she does a lining it’s going to be lime green. I’ll post some pictures later.
