Homecoming

I went to homecoming with friends tonight, it was SO MUCH FUN! My group of friends were the losers behind the band dancing our butts off. Every time the band played we’d all sing along at the top of our lungs, and dance. At first it was mostly me, then all my other band geek friends joined in. At one point we were all holding hands dancing around in a circle. Hey, we might have looked like idiots, but it was incredibly fun. Sometimes Ms. C looked at me or our whole group and smile and we’d just keep on dancing. After the band was done with one of the fight songs we all yelled “one, two, three, WE LOVE YOU MS. C!!!!”. She loved that. We ended up winning the game 14 to 7 in overtime. When we won we all went and danced around Ms. C, and we have a feeling that not only is she going to say something about this Monday, bu she’ll talk about it for a few more years.

Cross Country

This year I joined the cross country team at school. Actually this is the first year that they’ve had a cross country team for a while. But, last year there was a “running club”. So far we’ve had three meets. One home and two away. I did really well on at the first meet (home) and I got a time of 17:03. The second was a fun 1.5 mile course, but had a steep little hill at the very end which made it very hard to sprint afterwards. I was sort of slow and got a time of 13:51. The last meet was on Monday. It was also a very fun course. It was 1.65 miles on a golf course. There was one part of it that was a bunch of little hills, and that was a lot of fun to run through. I had an awesome time of 12:20 something seconds. Today at practice we did 800 m repeats, and I had to skip one because my foot hurt.

My Super Exiting Week at School

Well, on Friday we finished our first week of school, which, of course, was incredibly boring. On Tuesday we went to the small gym, found out our first hour teacher, which I already knew. So then we went into the big gym and sat in front of the teacher’s name. Then we got the “We’re glad your back, it’s going to be an exiting year this year” speech. Next we went to our first hour, got our schedules and agendas, then went to our first core class, found out what group we’d be in, then went around to all the teachers and read a page of the handbook. After lunch we went back to our first hour, got our lockers (I think that’s what we did) and then continued reading the handbook. After that we read The Sneeches, and were supposed to think about how that related to us. Then we went outside and did a lame “get to know one another” game. The we did arobruiniks or what ever the heck he called it. They were dance moves he said would help us not make a fool of ourselves at dances and “boost our popularity”. I sure could feel my popularity boosting while I was doing those dance moves. Then we went home. Wednesday was just as boring, all day we just read syllabuses, or syllabi, or whatever it is. Then after school I had cross country and then a riding lesson. Thursday was pretty boring too, we got a song in jazz band, and started playing in regular band. We did a couple things, but mostly nothing. Friday was boring too, we took a quiz in math and in science we did this weird string thing, and then I went to cross country practice, which didn’t involve much running. I’m so glad it’s the weekend.

I’ll have pictures later of my trip to Arizona.
