Mrs. Wu

Here she is, the lovely Mrs. Wu.
Mrs. Wu’s mother died an untimely death two days after giving birth so the farmer gave the litter to a neighbor who distributed them to a lucky few including us. She was a nice Memorial Day surprise and Scott and I have been having fun bottle feeding her. Our first attempts with a turkey baster and a baby bottle didn’t work out all that well but the lamb nipples I picked up today seem just right for her little mouth.
As a little educational aside, it is fortunate that Mrs. Wu’s mother managed to live for 2 days to nurse her piglets because 2 is the minimum number of days a piglet should have for getting colostrum so that they can gain immunities from their mother. Otherwise they don’t really have a fighting chance.

Isn’t she cute. Glad she is eating and she had the 2 days of nursing. Keep us updated on her progress.
